We currently have an exciting part time contract opportunity for a Specimen Processor in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities and prospects for Specimen Processor include:
Process human urine, fluid specimens
Accession specimens; verify information on requisitions and specimen matches
Maintain specimen integrity
Accurately enter appropriate information into the computer system
Bar code and aliquot specimens with appropriate speed and accuracy
Complete patient processing log
Work with patient records to transfer insurance and address info to the laboratory request form
Transfer fluids from one container to another for security of shipping
Prepare samples for shipping to the laboratory on a daily basis
File daily/monthly/annual records
Complete initial credentialing requirements and maintain annual updates
Must handle patient medical records with complete confidentiality
Education and experience for Specimen Processor include:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Worked as Certified Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant or recent graduate of Medical Assisting program with internship/externship experience
Basic MS Suite knowledge; Word, Excel, Outlook
Knowledge of medical terminology
Weekly electronic pay
